ABOUT DEPARTMENT
Mechanical Engineering department was established in 1951 with 60 students intake each year. There are 1 Professors, 1 Associate Professors and 13 Assistant Professors in Mechanical Engineering Department.
The Department has well equipped Thermal Engineering, Kinematics, Dynamics of Machinery, Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Machines, Heat Transfer, Metrology, Metallurgy, Automobile Engineering, Refrigeration & Air - Conditioning, Renewable Energy Sources and CAD-CAM laboratories. The department has well established workshop to cater the need of undergraduate students.
A separate computer centre with Audio visual aids is also available. The computer centre is having CREO (Design and Modelling software) and ANSYS software. Under TEQIP-II project, the department has purchased various laboratory equipment and software.

- Students will be able to apply the knowledge of computer aided tools for design and development of products based on engineering principles.
- Students will be able to manage production of components/systems using conventional and advanced manufacturing methods

Mechanical Engineering graduates will be able to:
- Apply the knowledge of basic science and engineering to analyze and solve problems related to mechanical engineering.
